The story of the Legacy Track Club begins with an award given out at the Parkway High School Cross Country Banquet each year, the Legacy Award. This is award is given to every senior in the program with the challenge to go out and leave a legacy. Seven years after graduating, two former PHS runners reached out to Coach Falting to talk about building their running legacies. They believed they still had more to prove even after running at SEC universities. One runner wanted to get back on the track while the other wanted to bump up to the marathon. Knowing nothing about the marathon at the time, Coach Falting reached out to his marathon-running best friend Coach Rabo, and the Legacy Track Club was born.
Since its inception, the LTC has grown to field marathon runners, high school athletes who didn’t have access to coaching, as well as people who just wanted to make a positive change in their lifestyle.
The Legacy Track Club has also created a very strong high school club team over the last two years that has qualified for the Nike Indoor National Championships, the Music City Distance Carnival, and even had an athlete run at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, OR. In it’s very first competition ever, the LTC girls team won the bronze division while the boys placed second in the silver division of the RunningLane XC National Championships.
In the post-collegiate ranks, the LTC has gone a perfect 3/3 in having marathoners run the qualifying time for the Boston Marathon!

The Louisiana outline with a star in the top left corner first and foremost represent our starting point. This team and it’s coaches trace back to Bossier CIty, LA where all of its original members either ran or coached at Parkway High School. The star is in honor of former PHS runner Steven Harville or “Starville,” who tragically passed away in 2020. The extended ray of the star pointing to the east is there to represent the idea that a legacy continues to grow across place and time.
